JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - AC Milan have signed Senegalese left-back Fode Ballo-Toure from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for a four-year contract, the clubs said, as quoted by Reuters on Sunday (07/18/2021).

Ballo-Toure started his career at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before moving to Lille in 2017, where he made his Ligue 1 debut and played 47 times in 18 months.

The 24-year-old then moved to AS Monaco in January 2019 and made 74 appearances for the club.

He made eight appearances for the France Under-21 national team before opting to play for the Senegal senior national team, making his debut in March. Ballo-Toure has played four times for Senegal to date.

Ballo-Toure will compete for the left-back spot alongside Theo Hernandez, as coach Stefano Pioli's side prepare to return to the Champions League after a seven-year absence.

AC Milan, who finished second behind city rivals Inter in Serie A last season, will start their 2021-22 domestic campaign against Sampdoria on 22 August, as reported by Antara.
