China Set to Donate 500,000 Doses of Sinovac to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, NETRALNEWS.COM - Chinese State Counselor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi says the Chinese government has agreed to donate 500,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine to the people of Malaysia.
"On behalf of the Malaysian Government, I would like to express Malaysia's sincere gratitude to my colleague Wang Yi and the Chinese Government for their generous contribution in helping us to fight this pandemic," Malaysian Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said in Putrajaya, on Wednesday (06/16/2021).
He said Malaysia really appreciates the invaluable support provided by China.
"Through recent initiatives, Malaysia hopes that the closure and friendly ties will be further consolidated for the mutual benefit of both of us," he said.

At the launching of Malaysia's National COVID-19 Immunization Program (Kebangsaan COVID-19 Immunization Program), Hishammuddin said this timely contribution would support the vaccination process and assist the ongoing vaccination process.
On the same occasion, Hishammuddin also welcomed the announcement made by Japanese Foreign Affairs Minister Motegi Toshimitsu on June 15, 2021, regarding the provision of supply of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in Japan to Malaysia, as reported by Antara.
"On behalf of the Malaysian Government, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my colleague Minister Toshimitsu and the Government of Japan for this positive matter," he said.
