China Urges World to Create 'Great Wall of Immunity' against COVID-19

BEIJING, NETRALNEWS.COM - China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged the international community to build a "Great Wall of Immunity" to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
"We must face the challenges together," said Wang, who is also a member of the State Council or cabinet before the 9th World Peace Forum at Tsinghua University in the Chinese capital, as reported by Reuters on Saturday (07/03/2021).
"The most urgent priority is to accelerate the construction of the 'Great Wall of Immunity' to ward off the virus, bypass political discrimination, and undertake international anti-pandemic cooperation."
China, the country where the coronavirus first emerged in the city of Wuhan at the end of 2019, has supplied more than 480 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to various countries.

Wang said they would continue to work to improve the accessibility and reach of the vaccine in developing countries.
As of Friday (07/02), China has used a total of 1.28 billion doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as reported by Antara.
