JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The COVID-19 pandemic has changed travel trends, as people now prefer to look for destinations that offer open and outdoor views.
Andhini Putri, VP of Marketing Transport & Financial Services at Traveloka, said domestic tourists prefer tourist destinations that have outdoor activities.
In addition, people's interest in traveling is also increasing, and this is probably caused by the longing to travel.
"We have a lot of tourist destinations in Indonesia that offer natural beauty. So, in terms of higher interest and trends, apart from destinations that offer a lot of outdoor activities, many people also go on road trips," Andhini said on Wednesday (06/16/2021).

She said there is an increasing trend of people going on road trips, as people can stop at several destinations at one time while on a road trip.
"From the accommodation side there is a staycation trend, so vacationing in the city is something we will see in 2021. If we compare it in 2019, this trend has doubled," said Andhini.
Meanwhile, Amalia Yaksa, Vice President of Marketing & Distribution Channel at Citilink Indonesia, said that flight routes to Bali and Yogyakarta are still top choices for people going on vacation, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Labuan Bajo is also on the rise. People want to see the island, they want to experience the beaches that are located elsewhere," she added, as reported by Antara.
