JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Inter Milan and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has confirmed that he will stay with the 2020-21 Italian Serie A champions.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea attacker joined Inter for £74m in 2019, scoring 64 goals in 95 games for the club.

However, after winning Inter's first Serie A title in 11 years, speculation has emerged that the 28-year-old striker will be sold in order to cut financial costs at the San Siro.

"I am staying," he told Belgian TV, as quoted by the BBC on Thursday. "I feel good at Inter."

Inter's owner, China-based Suning Group, are seeking to cut spending, a move that led to Antonio Conte leaving the club last week.

Former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi is almost certain to replace Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.

"I've been in contact with the man who will be our new coach," he told Belgian station VTM.

"Maybe I shouldn't have said that just yet. It was a very positive conversation. There is also the challenge of doing it again (winning the league)."

Lukaku is currently preparing with the Belgian national team for Euro 2020. Belgium is in Group B along with Russia, Denmark and Finland, as reported by Antara.
