JAKARTA, NNC - To support investment development, the Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has revoked 32 regulations to simplify the rules.
The 32 regulations of the Energy Ministry sector are revoked, spread across the oil and gas subsectors, mineral and coal, electricity, renewable energy and energy conservation as well as regulations on the Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Task Force (SKK Migas).
"As per the direction of Mr. President, we should try to encourage investments for economic growth and better job creation. One directive is to reduce licensing, reduce regulations, which is seen able to encourage business activities and investment getting better," said Energy Minister Ignasius Jonan at the Office of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Jakarta, Monday (2/5/2018).
Jonan said of the total 32 regulation deleted, the details are as follows. A total of 11 regulations are from oil and gas, four regulations are of electricity, seven on mineral and coal, seven on renewable energy and three regulations on SKK Migas implementation.
"Many of the underlying licenses of those rules will be removed," the minister continued.
This will continue to be done, said Jonan, a week or two they will be reduced again, so the longer the business activities [in the EMR sector] the better," he explained.
