Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Ready to Become International Hub (kemenhub)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COMTo attract foreign tourists, Soekarno Hatta International Airport is ready to become an International Hub Airport that serves direct flights for international destinations. This was conveyed by Indonesia Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

"Soekarno Hatta Airport is ready to become an International Hub Airport because we want to encourage domestic airlines to open international routes to attract foreign tourists," explained the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation said Soekarno Hatta Airport continues to be built so that its capacity is more optimal. For example, such as the construction of Runway 3 which was built to accelerate the flow of incoming and outgoing aircraft, as well as accommodating foreign airlines, as well as terminal 4 development plans.

In addition to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport is also one of the airports that can become Indonesia's international hub.

Meanwhile, national airlines continue to increase international flight routes, such as Garuda Indonesia, which this year will add international flight routes to Turkey, Russia and South Korea.

According to the Minister of Transportation, this strategy is better for the national aviation industry than having to rely on international flights coming to Indonesia by making airports in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand become tourism hubs for Indonesia.

Furthermore, the Minister of Transportation said that currently the number of tourists in neighboring countries such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore with Indonesia still has a gap. Therefore, tourism marketing strategies are needed so that tourists who have arrived in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, are also interested in Indonesia.
