Transmigration Progam Offers Solution for Indonesian Development

YOGYAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Anwar Sanusi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration said that the transmigration program was one of the solutions for Indonesia's development.

The transmigration program has made a significant contribution especially to overcome population problems and problems related to poverty.

"There are currently transmigration areas that have become centers of growth outside Java. We have seen how transmigration contributes to the establishment of two provinces, dozens of districts, hundreds of villages and sub-districts," Anwar said.

This statement was conveyed by Anwar in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held by the Ministry of Villages. The FGD was conducted related to the development of a creative or digital economy to accelerate the development of transmigration development as a manifestation of transmigration restoration in the Merapi Auditorium Room, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on Friday (05/24/2019).

So, according to Anwar, in various aspects, transmigration has become an important icon for industrial development, even as an inspiration for neighboring countries to develop the same thing.

According to Anwar, the Ministry of Villages has made and proposed a village economic revitalization program for transmigration areas and underdeveloped areas whose purpose is to grow and develop the economy.

"Therefore, we must guard together. The assumption that we build is that there is potential from the countryside or from transmigration if we can intervene appropriately. Then, it will provide a very significant contribution especially to the Indonesian economic growth. At present, we "It has identified the connectivity or relationship between transmigration areas, between rural areas, between rural and urban areas, between rural areas and production centers," he said.

Furthermore, Anwar said that related to the development of digital economy, he had reviewed BUMDes and markets that had been assisted by developing the use of Cashless Payment, namely the use of digital payment instruments.
