JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The organizers of the Jakarta Fair (PRJ) or Jakarta Fair 2019 anticipates a surge in visitors and an increase in transactions ahead of the Eid holiday.

"The moment will be Eid holidays, joint leave and school holidays, which will be used by the public to visit the Jakarta Fair. Consumption will be more towards spending Eid. Maybe a surge will be seen this weekend and next week for shopping for Eid needs," said Director of Marketing PT JIExpo Ralph Scheunemann in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Saturday (05/25/2019).

According to the organizer, three days after the opening on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, the number of visitors is still in line with the expected target.

Despite being affected by the riots that occurred around Sarinah and Tanah Abang on May 22, PRJ organizers estimated that visitors would not be affected by the effects of the incident.

"Influence is only the first day. The second and third days are all normal. There are also many visitors who come and make transactions. Usually the first week they just look around, but this is because Lebaran is near shopping," Ralph explained.

Ralph estimates that the peak of visitor arrivals will occur during Lebaran, because what comes is not only Jakarta residents but also from outside the city.

"Surely the Lebaran day will be very crowded. In the last few years the media center team conducted research that they saw something new at the Jakarta Fair. In fact we found some visitors from outside Jakarta," he said.

Jakarta Fair or Jakarta Fair is an annual event held to commemorate Jakarta's anniversary which falls on June 22. This year the event will be held from May 22 to June 30, 2019 at JiExpo Kemayoran.
