Blue Bird Electric Taxi Armada (bluebird)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – Listed taxi services company Bluebird has demonstrated its commitment to realize the presence of electric vehicles to serve customers and the publc through a synergy with state-owned airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II.

Through this collaboration, electric taxi cars, both Bluebird and Silverbird, will be available at the Terminal 3 arrival area, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to service passengers.

The launching of the Bluebird taxi car at Soekarno Hatta International Airport was inaugurated directly by the President Director of Blue Bird Noni Purnomo and Director of Services and Facilities, PT Angkasa Pura II, Ituk Herarindi.

Noni Purnomo said, "We are very proud to be together with Angkasa Pura II to introduce Bluebird electric vehicles to the public and offer a unique experience in traveling with electric cars,"

"This collaboration can be realized along with the common vision between the two companies in supporting environmental sustainability, which starts from a small step. We hope that with our electric taxi fleet at Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta Airport, it can be Bluebird's support for the implementation carried out by Angkasa Pura II in making Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as an Eco Airport. "Noni added.

Blue Bird had earlier made history in the Indonesian transportation industry by launching cars with electric power as its newest fleet for Bluebird and Silverbird services, namely BYD e6 A/T and Tesla Model X 75D A/T.

On this occasion, the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) awarded Bluebird as the first provider of electric taxis in Indonesia.

The President Director of Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin, said that the operation of the Blue Bird electric taxi increasingly emphasized the concept of eco airport in Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta.

"The existence of the Blue Bird electric taxi certainly makes Terminal 3 increasingly known as an eco airport, while increasing the competitiveness and image of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. We believe this electric taxi also makes airport service standards increase to a higher level, especially in the public transportation sector. "

Meanwhile, Terminal 3 has now implemented the Intelligence Building Management System, where this technology keeps Terminal 3 operating as an eco airport by regulating water expenditure, electricity use, and so on.

Another system is a rain water system that can use rainwater to be used as clean water. Terminal 3 also has a recycle water system technology that is able to treat toilet water to return to toilet water so that it can save water consumption.

"The collaboration between AP II and Blue Bird in presenting this electric taxi is expected to be a stimulus so that the eco airport concept can touch more broadly into other sectors at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Bluebird plans to be able to operate as many as 200 electric cars by 2020, where the company will be able to eliminate 434,095 kg of CO2 emissions or fuel consumption of 1,898,182 liters; and with the addition of 2000 units of electric cars in the period 2020 - 2025 it will be able to eliminate 21,704,760 kg of CO2 emissions or equivalent to fuel consumption of 94,909,091 liters.
