COLOGNE, NETRALNEWS.COM Indonesian wood products return to international exhibitions. This time, Indonesian light wood products took part in the Interzum furniture exhibition held in Cologne, Germany. At this exhibition, Indonesia managed to record potential transactions of US $ 5.64 million from 320 buyers.

Interzum is an exhibition that is held every two years and displays furniture products and interior design. This year, Interzum was attended by 1,805 participants from 60 countries. During the four days of implementation, around 74,000 people visited the exhibition.

"Participation in this exhibition is one of the ways the Ministry of Trade and representatives of the Government of Indonesia in Germany to introduce Indonesian wood products that have implemented timber verification and legality (SVLK) certification to the EU market, especially Germany," said the Head of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center ( ITPC) Hamburg Risnawaty.

At Interzum 2019, the Indonesian Pavilion featured three companies, namely PT. Albizia Nusantara results with plywood and blockboard products; PT. Pinako Rotari Permai with tri-layer door core products, barecore, blockboard, garden tile and decking; and PT. Rama Gombong Sejahtera with barecore, blockboard, plywood, door core, three layer board, LV/LVB and cross grain face products. In addition, there is one Indonesian company that is an independent exhibitor, namely PT. Ateja Trinity. At this exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion received support from the Brussels Industrial Attaché and the German Import Promotion Desk (IPD) which presented its assisted companies.

The booth at the Indonesian Pavilion was created by prioritizing the honeycomb design previously used also at the Interzum 2017 exhibition and the Indonesian light wood pavilion at the 2018 Trade Expo Indonesia.

"The same design is deliberately reused, hoping to become an icon in this exhibition. With this model, it is expected to prove that Sengon wood or other types of light wood can be used to withstand heavy loads," Risnawaty said.

Risnawaty added, at this exhibition there was also a business reception activity at the Indonesian Pavilion booth which invited buyers and at the event various Indonesian specialties were served. This business reception activity also received support from the Indonesian Consulate General in Frankfurt and the Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin.

During the Exhibition, Indonesia also promoted the Trade Expo Indonesia which will be held on 16-20 October 2019 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang, Banten. On this occasion, Indonesia invited visitors to the pavilion and businesses in Germany to come to the largest multiproduct exhibition in Indonesia.
