Astra Collaborates with Ministry of Villages for Village Development Program (astra)

JAKARTA, NETRALENWS.COM - PT Astra International Tbk (IDX:ASII),  the Indonesia Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the development of 275 new Astra Sejahtera Villages, so that the distribution reaches 34 provinces throughout Indonesia.

Being part of the 275 Astra Sejahtera Villages, the company also signed a cooperation agreement to foster an additional Astra Sejahtera Village with 51 districts, 9 universities, 9 pilot digital companies, 8 communities, and 7 Islamic boarding schools.

With the addition of 275 Astra Sejahtera Villages that will be developed, the company will later develop 645 Astra Sejahtera Villages in 125 regencies/ cities in 34 provinces.

The signing of this cooperation was carried out in the Astra Group's Environment, Health & Safety Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility (EHS & CSR) Forum.

Indonesia Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Eko Putro Sandjojo was accompanied by Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra Pongki Pamungkas and Astra Deputy Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah also witnessed the signing of the cooperation,

"The concept of Astra Sejahtera Village can be an inspiration for all parties, because it is not financial, but provides assistance and markets," said Minister of Village Eko Putro after witnessing the signing of the cooperation at Menara Astra, in a press release on Wednesday (6/26/2019 )

The Communication Forum is expected to be Astra's guide and inspiration in compiling EHS programs and CSR based on sustainable development goals or commonly called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

SDGs cover 17 goals with 169 measurable achievements and deadlines determined by the United Nations as the world development agenda for the benefit of humans and planet Earth.
