JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The success of the Village Funds program is inseparable from the role of village facilitators. To improve the welfare of village assistants, the Indonesia Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Areas, and Transmigration has signed a Collective Agreement with state-owned banking company PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and PT BNI Life Insurance.

Minister of Villages Eko Putro Sandjojo said that to provide additional protection for village assistants, the Ministry provided additional optional benefits by giving/offering to all village assistants to take part in the BNI Life Insurance program.

He said the village facilitators had already received health care guarantees from the Health Social Security Agency (BPJS), with BNI Life Insurance, with a premium of IDR 50,000 a year to cover up to  IDR 25 million in death, as well as covering up to 90 days due to sickness.

"Therefore, the village facilitators can work even harder, villages can be more advanced, and we can continue to reduce the gap," Eko said when giving directions to hundreds of village assistants who attended the signing of the Collective Labor Agreement between the Ministry of Villages and BNI Life Insurance at the Ministry's offic.

In addition, his side with BNI offers subsidized housing loans to village assistants.

"So there are many models and cooperation with BNI that help accelerate the economy in the villages. Later it will also be developed for village officials, and the village community to get insurance," Eko said.

In line with this, the Director of BNI Institutional Relations Adi Sulistyowati said the program for the village facilitator, BNI provided benefits to the village facilitators.

"The village facilitators already have insurance, we will cover it for other benefits that are not in the BPJS, we provide it so that it can increase the productivity of the assistants and also cover the risks that occur in the field while they are working," he explained.
