TANGERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - Global technology firm Microsoft and Indonesia-based property developer Sinar Mas Land have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to encourage the transformation of BSD City into an integrated smart city. This large-scale and innovative project, which is the first of its kind in Indonesia, will be developed inclusively and accessible to all communities.
Against a backdrop of digital technology such as cloud, artificial intelligence, internet of things (IoT) and data-based decision making, Sinar Mas Land has a vision to create a city of the future with smart homes, connected workplaces and Digital Hub business areas in complementing community services and public infrastructure.
For this reason, Sinar Mas Land then invited Microsoft to work together as partners.
As part of this cooperation agreement, Microsoft will also open up opportunities for partners to work with Sinar Mas Land in developing solutions based on their areas of expertise.
Michael Widjaja, Group CEO of Sinar Mas Land, said BSD City is an ambitious project of the company. The project offers significant growth opportunities, especially the exploration of digital community development which is currently one of the concerns of the company today.
Inspired to be a pioneer in property and development, Sinar Mas Land is very enthusiastic to carry out digital transformation in BSD City, which is the company's largest township project.

Microsoft Indonesia President Director Haris Izmee said Microsoft and Sinar Mas Group have an established partnership, having previously partnered in the digital transformation of the company and the Sinar Mas Group's corporate lines.
With this MoU, Microsoft brings global expertise that creates smart and sustainable cities throughout the world, including Kiruna, Denver, Taipei, Cascais, as well as Indonesia.
In addition to smart cities, Microsoft's experience in work and public safety includes New Zealand, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, and South Africa.
Previously, Sinar Mas Land has also begun the transformation of its largest township, BSD City, to become the first integrated smart city.
Sinar Mas Land also develops a Digital Hub in the BSD City area. The Digital Hub is an area of 26 hectares dedicated to startups, communities, educational institutions and also multinational companies that focus on the digital industry and technology.
