JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan and Indonesia Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi have witnessed the lifting of the Jabodebek (Greater Jakarta) Light Rail Transit (LRT) train at Harjamukti Station, Cibubur. In the event, Budi said the Greater Jakarta LRT would be operational in 2021.
"We will carry out the completion of the facility test and construction test simultaneously. It is expected that operational activities will begin in 2021," he said in Jakarta, on Monday (10/14/2019).
The Minister said the testing would be carried out in stages and in detail for one year for a total of 31 existing LRT trains.
Furthermore, Minister of Transportation Budi said the tariff from Cibubur-Dukuh Atas would be set at IDR12,000, and had been subsidized by 50 percent by the Government.
"The fare is IDR 12,000 and already subsidized, since the commercial price is IDR 25,000 from Cibubur-Dukuh Atas," said Transportation Minister Budi.
Meanwhile Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the technology in the Greater Jakarta LRT was more sophisticated than the MRT because it uses third generation technology. Coordinating Minister Luhut also expressed the gratitude and pride of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to the Indonesians who succeeded in creating this.
"Our long work has begun to look like a fruit. First, more than 60 percent of the local content, the trains are all made by LEN and INKA or domestically made. This is an extraordinary thing for Indonesians," said Luhut.
For information, from a total of 31 series, one LRT series was sent by PT INKA (Persero) on 8 October 2019.
The next step will be a dynamic test scheduled for October 18, 2019 with test items including Traction System Test, Low Speed Test, High Speed Test, Traction Performance Test, and PID (Passenger Information Display) System Test.
Greater Jakarta LRT development progress to date has reached 66.13 percent. With details for Lintas Cawang-Cibubur 85.73 percent, Lintas Cawang-Kuningan-Dukuh Atas 56.10 percent, and Lintas Cawang-Bekasi Timur 59.52 percent.
It is predicted that the third development phase will be completed in 2020 and will be operational in 2021.
LRT trains can accommodate 1308 people if in a crowded condition and 740 people under normal conditions. With headway or passenger waiting time of 2-3 minutes at each station.
