Panji Himawan, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Division at Sinar Mas Land, said : "In order to welcome Heroes' Day, Sinar Mas Land again held a watching together event for the animated film titled Battle of Surabaya. This film tells the story of young patriots who fought against the invaders to defend the Indonesian state during the Surabaya battle of November 10, 1945."
It is hoped that through this story, the animated film can bring up the patriotic and nationalist spirit of Indonesian youths as the nation's successors. In the current era of globalization and digitalization, patriotic and nationalist attitudes can be realized through a variety of positive actions, one of which is through achievements at national and international competitions.
"One example is Andre Surya, an animator from Indonesia who is directly involved in making prestigious world-class animated films such as Transformers, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Star Trek and Terminator," Panji said on Saturday (11/23/2019).
Sinar Mas Land also continues to motivate youths to develop talents in the digital and creative industries through non-formal digital and animation schools in the Digital Hub area. Within this area, there are a number of tenants who focus on the progress of the creative industries such as Apple Developer Academy, NXL E-Sport Academy, Creative Nest, Purwadhika Startup & Coding School, Binar Academy and Techpolitan.
The Digital Hub is developed on an area of 26.85 hectares, and will be dedicated as a container or home for the digital talent pool. It is hoped that through this area, Indonesia will be able to produce Indonesian animators who can bring Indonesia to the global stage.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia-based animated movie watching together event is held every month, starting from August to November 2019.
