MoF Promises to Improve Services System at Indonesia Ministry of Finance

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati has promised to improve the entire services system at the Ministry of Finance. The systems include the services system used by the Directorate General of Taxes, and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

"We will use all channels in the Ministry of Finance, including the whistle blower system which can lead us to information that must be followed up if there are complaints from the public," she said at the Head Office of the Directorate General of Taxes in Jakarta.

The Ministry of Finance will also increase its supervision by involving various stakeholders such as Apindo, Kadin, and international institutions, so that the Ministry of Finance can get direct response from business actors regarding matters that need to be improved.

Sri Mulyani said the Ministry of Finance was diligent in monitoring developments in the public through social media, so that problems experienced by the public in relation to the services of their staff could be fixed quickly.

"Yesterday there was a complaint from someone who said it was difficult to get a Tax Identification Number (NPWP). We immediately checked the request to the Directorate General of Taxes and handled it. Apparently, the problem could be solved much sooner," she explained.

Sri Mulyani also stressed that all employees must have integrity to provide services to the public sincerely, and reject corruption so that they can contribute more in moving Indonesia forward through efficient budget management.

"The various efforts that we do to keep the Ministry of Finance from corruption is a challenge and a concern, even though the Ministry of Finance has a lot of achievements," she said.
