JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Maya Soetoro is motivating young people and young entrepreneurs to introduce Indonesia's wealth to the world.
The statement was made by Maya on the sidelines of a joint lunch and informal discussion on youths and young entrepreneurs. The event was initiated by HOPE Worldwide Indonesia, and was held at Nan Xiang, Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/04/2019).
"I hope the young people who are present here can be connected to each other and learn good things from Indonesia. It is a powerful gathering of youths and leaders that can make Indonesia stronger and more advanced," Maya said.
Maya Soetoro is a teacher at La Pietra, Hawaii School for Girls in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States (US). She was born to the couple of Lolo Soetoro and Ann Dunham. Maya is also the younger sister of former US President Barack Obama.
Furthermore, Maya said the efforts that could be done to strengthen and advance Indonesia were through mutual cooperation. Mutual cooperation can be in the form of collaboration and mutual assistance with each other in making various creative innovations.
"I hope that they can collaborate, as well as become leaders not only in their communities, but also in the region and the world. [Let us] support Indonesia to find inspiration from youths, from activities, and works throughout the Asia Pacific," she explained.
Before the joint lunch and informal discussions of youths and young entrepreneurs, the event began with an informal breakfast and discussion with senior entrepreneurs and CEOs.
Lucas Sanjaya, Chairperson of HOPE Worldwide Indonesia and host of the discussion and event, opened the event in the morning. Also present at the event were Hary Theo, CEO of PT Netral Kontinental Media, as well as Teddy Chandra who also acted as host of the event.
