TANGERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - Digital technology is growing rapidly in this decade. Products from digital technology can now be used in everyday life, ranging from computer applications for study and work, online games, fintech, as well as infrastructure.
The rapid development of digital technology at this time will create significant influence on the economic sector. As is the case in the United States (US), where the economic revolution of the superpower began with the development of Silicon Valley in San Francisco.
Starting with innovation and the availability of digital talent from Stanford University and several universities, Silicon Valley has now become the home of the world's largest technology companies, including global brands Apple, Twitter, Facebook, and Tesla.
Some countries have dedicated special regions to the development of digital economy. In Indonesia, the development of digital economic zones is carried out in a visionary way by Sinar Mas Land through Digital Hub in BSD City.
Reflecting on Silicon Valley, Sinar Mas Land started this development organically by providing universities to provide digital talent pool, even before the development of Digital Hub.
This makes BSD City have qualified digital talent pool to complement the high-tech facilities and infrastructure available in this smart city.
Now, in line with the development of the Digital Hub, Sinar Mas Land has welcomed various world-class technology companies such as Apple, Huawei, and NTT, to set up offices in BSD city.
Sinar Mas Land is collaborating with The Jakarta Post and PricewaterhouseCoopers to examine the development of Digital Hub Area in BSD City. The discussion took place on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at The Breeze BSD City.
In this event, Irvan Yasni (CEO of Technology Business - Sinar Mas Land) and Ravi Ivaturi (PwC Indonesia - Digital Transformation Advisor) discussed about fostering innovation in the development of digital economy at the Digital Hub.
The discussion was led by Prima Wirayani (Business Desk Deputy Editor - The Jakarta Post) as moderator, and was attended by 80 people from digital-based companies, founders and startup workers, as well as technology enthusiasts.
The Digital Hub area is designed as an expansive and sustainable tech commerce center with the aim of providing a platform for Indonesian creators and innovators who strive to have a fantastic future, become integrated with technology, and have full environmental awareness. As part of the Economy 4.0 movement, Digital Hub is also prepared to become the leading digital economy hub in Indonesia.
Panji Himawan, Head of Corporate Communication & Public Affairs Division at Sinar Mas Land, said on Wednesday (12/04/2019): "In the digital arena at this time, all fields will be affected, including us who are engaged in the real estate industry. For Sinar Mas Land, developing an area such as the Digital Hub--which will later become a home for a community of creative, technological and digital actors--is one of our manifestations of being a pioneer of a developer company that creates products according to the needs of the current digital era."
Panji continued that in most projects owned by Sinar Mas Land, residential houses that have been equipped with smart home system features have been launched, all of which can be integrated with gadgets.
For information, the Digital Hub was built on an area of 26 hectares, and is located in the southern part of the BSD Green Office Park. A number of educational institutions in the field of coding have also been present at BSD City. These include Apple Developer Academy, Binar Academy, Techpolitan, Purwadhika, Grab Innovation Lab, and Creativenest.
The existence of these institutions is useful for providing workforce in digital fields, such as IT developers, for a number of multinational companies, startups and tech companies operating in the BSD City area.
