JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesia Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) has revealed that it is likely that the candidates for president director of Garuda Indonesia will come from outside the state-owned aviation company.

"Surely we are looking for the best figure who is not contaminated with problems in Garuda Indonesia, and is able to make the airline fly high and not lose money," said Special Staff of the Ministry of SOEs Arya Sinulingga in Jakarta, on Monday (01/13/2020).

In addition, Arya also added that the Ministry of SOEs was also looking for someone who must understand finances, have strong management capabilities, and profiles that are expected to improve Garuda Indonesia.

The SOE Ministry also continues to take candidates from Garuda internally in order to be aware of the airline's internal conditions.

In addition, the Ministry will also do a little refreshment at the commissioner level.

The SOE Ministry's Special Staff said that he had obtained the names of three candidates for the position of President Director at Garuda Indonesia.

"There is a figure who is experienced in airlines, there is also a figure who is indeed needs to be strong in the financial sector, and there is a figure who has strength in management and finance," said Arya Sinulingga.

Regarding the name or figure to be chosen as a candidate for the president director of the state-owned airline, Arya asked the public to wait for the results of the Garuda Indonesia Extraordinary Meeting of shareholders on January 22, 2020.

Previously, Indonesia Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, spoke out about the critics of the Garuda Indonesia preisdnet director candidates who must understand managerial and business vision going forward.

He added that technical and operational issues would be focused on the respective directors, and the directors must prioritize on safety. Budi admitted that until now, Garuda has not proposed a new board of directors.
