TANGERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - Sinar Mas Land, together with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, have conducted a household waste management event named 'Green Habbit Environmental Conservation 2.0' in the Victoria Cluster, BSD City.

The provision of education to residents on sorting organic and inorganic (plastic) waste has taken place 4 times, and is part of the Sinar Mas Land Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

Not only preserving the environment, this event also invites citizens to take social action through the exchange of inorganic waste that is converted into rupiah for donation/distribution to the poor.

The organic waste will be recycled back into multifunctional goods such as floor cleaners and dishwashing soap.

In order to support environmental preservation efforts, Sinar Mas Land has organized the greening program for Benteng Taruna Stadium in Kelapa Dua, Tangerang, by planting 1,000 trees in the sports center area.

Not only that, Sinar Mas Land also carried out a number of activities in an effort to actualize the CSR Program for the environment, namely the Green Festival, which has been regularly held since 2004.

This activity is an effort of Sinar Mas Land in campaigning, initiating, training, fostering, and as a form of moral movement, appreciation, and promotion of all aspects of the environment.

Regarding this activity, Panji Himawan, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Division at Sinar Mas Land, said "We invite all citizens to be able to manage waste to strengthen their awareness of the environment. Besides trying to contribute to efforts to save the earth, we also hope that through this method of sorting waste, at least it can reduce the amount of waste that is capable of producing economic value. It is planned that similar activities will also be applied throughout the project to the clusters managed by Sinar Mas Land."
