TANGERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - Sinar Mas Land, together with the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, have once again conducted a household waste management program in the Greencove cluster in BSD City. The event is a nature and environmental preservation program titled 'Green Habit Environmental Conservation 2.0'.
The education on organic and inorganic (plastic) waste sorting to residents has been conducted five times, and is part of the Sinar Mas Land Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Not only preserving the environment, this event also invites citizens to take social action through the exchange of inorganic waste which is converted into rupiah, which are then donated/distributed to people who are less able. Meanwhile, organic waste will be recycled back into multifunctional goods such as floor cleaners and dishwashing soap.
This commitment to environmental conservation is not only implemented in the training on sorting waste. Previously, Sinar Mas Land had organized the Benteng Taruna Stadium greening program at Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency, by planting 1,000 trees in the sports center area.
In addition, the company also carries out a number of activities in an effort to realize its Environmental CSR Program, namely the Green Festival, which has been routinely held since 2004. This activity is an effort of Sinar Mas Land in campaigning, initiating, training, fostering, and as a form of moral movement, appreciation and promotion of all aspects of the environment.
Panji Himawan, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Division at Sinar Mas Land, said: "Sinar Mas Land is not only focused on developing business, but also protecting the environment. Therefore, we invite all citizens to contribute to managing waste in order to increase their awareness of the environment.
By sorting garbage, the residents will get various benefits while facilitating the process of recycling waste in the next stage, as most of the waste that can be recycled have considerable economic value. It is planned that similar activities will also be applied throughout the project to the clusters managed by Sinar Mas Land. "
