Plaza Indonesia Set to Temporarily Close amid Coronavirus Outbreak (indonesiaexpat)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Plaza Indonesia shopping center in downtown Jakarta is temporarily closing almost all shops in its shopping area to anticipate the spreading of Covid-19 coronavirus in public places.

"The temporary closure will be carried out from Wednesday (3/25/2020) to Friday (3/4/2020). Thus, there is no activity to gather mass people in the shopping center," said Tenant General Manager, Communication Relations, Customer Service , and SQA Stella Kohdong in the tenant closing notice received in Jakarta, Monday (3/23/2020) night.

As a socially responsible company, Plaza Indonesia fully supports the government's efforts to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 and calls for employees to stay at home (which includes shop tenants).

Therefore, the management of PT Plaza Indonesia Realty, Tbk. has decided that Plaza Indonesia will be closed temporarily from March 25 to April 3, 2020.

However, stores that serve basic needs, such as supermarkets, pharmaceuticals, and automated teller machines (ATMs), are still available to the public.

Stella mentioned a number of stores that serve basic needs and are at the Basement Level of Plaza Indonesia, including such as The FoodHall Supermarket, pharmacies (Guardian, GNC, Century, and Natural Farm), Maybank, money changers, and all ATMs will remain open.

Services that provide basic needs continue to operate from 11:00-17:00 Indonesian Western Time.

The temporary closure of places where people gather is recommended by the Government to anticipate the spreading of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

For example, in the Capital City, tourist attractions managed by the Government have been closed since Saturday (3/14), while entertainment and family recreation venues are recommended to close starting Monday (3/23/2020) by the Jakarta Department of Tourism and Creative Economy .
