JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Starting today, Tuesday (03/24/2020), transportation provider PT TransJakarta will stop top-up transaction services and card purchases at all TransJakarta stations.
The policy is carried out in line with the stipulation of disaster emergency response status related to the coronavirus or Covid-19 by the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.
"This means that all customers are required to ensure that they have an electronic money card with adequate balance when they arrive at the bus stop," said Nadia Diposanjoyo, Head of Corporate and Public Relations Division at PT Transjakarta, on Tuesday (03/24/2020).
In addition, she said the company prioritizes on health workers who use Transjakarta. Health workers are asked to directly notify themselves to the officers at TransJakarta bus stops.
"All health workers can show their identity cards or identity of work location to the (Transjakarta) officer in the bus stop," Nadia said.
In addition, the number of passengers on the bus has been limited to prevent the spreading of the Corona or Covid-19 virus in public transportation.
For articulated buses, said Nadia, it will only accommodate 60 passengers. Usually this bus can accommodate up to a capacity of 180 people.
"Thirty passengers for large buses, 15 passengers for medium buses and royaltrans, and 6 passengers for microtrans," she explained.
