SERANG, NETRALNEWS.COM - The supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel handling the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak in Indonesia is increasingly becoming limited. During a closed meeting on the Covid-19 Task Force Report on Monday (03/30/2020), Indonesia President Joko Widodo, through Youtube, said that Indonesia needed around 3 million PPEs until the end of May.
In order to help the government meet these needs, and as a form of implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR), Sinar Mas Land, through PT Bumi Serpong Damai (IDX:BSDE), has distributed a number of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel in several regions in Indonesia.
This time, the PPE assistance was given to Banten Province. Head of Corporate Affairs Division of Sinar Mas Land, Dony Martadisata, handed the PPE assistance directly to the Banten Provincial Secretary, Al Muktabar, at the Banten Governor's Official House, Jalan Raya Ahmad Yani, Serang, Banten, on Tuesday (3/31/2020). The set of aid contains various PPEs, including hazard clothes, N95 masks, boots, goggle masks, and rubber gloves.
"As a great nation, our nation's ancestors inherited mutual cooperation culture which has become a part of social life. The spirit of mutual cooperation makes us strong and be able to survive in tough situations. There have been many hard experiences in the past that have been successfully passed in this nation in mutual cooperation, "said Dony Martadisata.
He added that Sinar Mas Land, as part of the community and the public, wants to participate and contribute to helping the government fight the coronavirus. He hopes that the PPE assistance can be used by medical personnel at the forefront in taking care of patients. Thus, they can protect themselves and be able to work well without endangering themselves and their families.
In a different place, CEO of Strategic Land Bank at Sinar Mas Land Christopher Siswanto said that PPE assistance will also be provided to the Tangerang District Government and the Government of South Tangerang City.
"We will also distribute PPE to Batam and Manado. In more detail, Sinar Mas Land provided 750 sets of assistance. This is a concrete form of solidarity that we can do to help the government and the public to restore the situation," said Christopher Siswanto.
In addition, Sinar Mas Land, together with housewives and community members who are members of the BSD City Smart House, distributed hand sanitizers, masks, and disinfectant fluids to a number of target schools. The assisted schools are located in urban villages and suburbs in the Banten area, such as Mauk, Sukadiri, Kaler Mountain, Pandeglang, and Lebak, among others
