JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Transportation company PT Transportasi Jakarta has announced changes in operational service hours to 06:00-18:00 Indonesian western time. The changing of operating hours is made in response to the Large-Scale Social Limitation (PSBB) regulation that will come into effect on Friday (04/10/2020).
"From April 10 to 24, 2020, Transjakarta will operate from 06:00-18:00, and will continues to operate in 13 main corridors. This new operational pattern adds to the number of existing regulations implented since the announcement of Governor Regulation on COVID-19 Emergency in Jakarta, "said TransJakarta Corporate and Public Relations Division Head Nadia Diposanjoyo, on Wednesday (04/08/2020).
The policy follows the provisions agreed upon by the leaders in the Jakarta Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompimda) meeting, and was announced by Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan, on Tuesday (04/07/2020).
In addition, another latest policy is giving priority to medical staff who will board TransJakarta bus services in the 13 service corridors.
"TransJakarta also applies special queues for medical staff to make it easier to use TransJakarta services. Medical staff can show their medical officer identification card," said Nadia.
The rest of the rules set for using TransJakarta services during the PSBB period are more or less the same as during transportation restrictions before Jakarta was allowed to do large-scale restrictions.
These rules include requiring TransJakarta service users to use double-layer cloth masks in accordance with Governor's Call number 9 of 2020 concerning the Use of Masks to Prevent COVID-19 Transmission, limiting the number of passengers in one bus, and limiting the safe distance between passengers at least one arm's reach.
In addition, TransJakarta also eliminates transactions that require physical contact and provides a means of washing hands with a handsanitizer or portable sink until the COVID-19 pandemic ends in the Capital City.
"We, Transjakarta management, invite the community to better stay in the house if there is nothing urgent. Always maintain health and stamina in the current conditions and always get used to washing hands so that the spread of the COVID-19 virus can be minimized," concluded Nadia.
