JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The role of teachers, principals, and supervisors for the success of distance learning model using the blended learning method is very important, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic period. At present, the learning system has changed from face-to-face learning to distance (online) learning.
Of course, the changes in learning methods must remain effective, in which students can receive course material delivered by their teachers online. For this reason, Sinar Mas Land and the Gerakan Sekolah Menyenangkan (Fun School Movement/GSM) collaborate with teachers, school principals and supervisors in the preparation of a learning curriculum in sync.
Students are expected to have a pleasant experience that is full of surprises and exciting challenges in an educational method that combines direct (offline) and virtual (online) face-to-face learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
To that end, the Blended Learning Batch 2 National Seminar took place specifically for supervisors and principals throughout Indonesia through Zoom application, on Friday (6/17). Around 300 supervisors and school principals took part in a seminar organized by Sinar Mas Land's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), together with schools that are members of GSM. The supervisors and school principals came from Tangerang Raya, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Palangkaraya, Jambi, Lampung, Sulawesi, South Sumatra, and Jakarta.
GSM Founder Muhammad Nur Rizal MEng PhD emphasized that the main education is preparing the physical and mental strength of students so that they are able to design the future. Education should not just complete the curriculum. Children must be trained and accustomed to solving their own problems.
"GSM wants children to be addicted to the world of learning. The world of learning is not only from the school, but also the home, the environment, the community, and from the surrounding problems, such as the challenges in the current Covid-19 pandemic," Rizal said when giving material at the seminar.
For information, Sinar Mas Land BSD City CSR intensively accompanies schools that implement GSM. "There are more than 200 schools and 2,000 teachers that we continue to assist, both through groups in Whatsapp or by direct visits," said CSR Department Head of BSD City Sinar Mas Land Maria Chatarina.
The event was a continuation of the previous seminar held for teachers throughout Indonesia, earlier this month. The seminar that raised the learning methods during the Covid-19 pandemic became a series of the 6th Sinar Mas Land Education Festival. The highlight of the festival will take place on July 30, 2020.
