CILILIN, NETRALNEWS.COM - One of the programs of the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs in Cililin, West Bandung District is the Social Entrepreneurship (ProKUS) program.
Alif Riwayan and millions of other colleagues are the benefits receivers (KPM) of Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) from the Ministry of Social Affairs. Through the Teh Tarik business, Alif has become more optimistic in facing the future.
The Teh Tarik business named Ray Raka has now become popular. It is in line with the strong assistance commitment from the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Entrepreneurship Program, especially for the KPMs of Keluarga Harapan Program who have the same business start-ups as Alif. Not only does ProKUS provide funds, but also does it provide mentor guidance which is based on the type of KPM's business.
“Our family's economy used to be weak. In 2020, the Social Entrepreneurship Program funded our family with IDR3.5 million. Starting from there, I began to develop my business from the production side," Alif said in Cililin Sub-district, West Bandung District on Tuesday (02/09/2021).
ProKUS is a continuation program of the Keluarga Harapan Program. It aims to independently train the KPMs with the business potentials that they have so that their business can develop more.
"There are lots of things that I can learn from the mentoring, such as producing a product that is safe for health, and setting up a good marketing strategy," he said.
Ade Wewen uses the ProKUS funding for tempeh. His business can produce thousands of tempeh blocks a day.
Ade explains that during the pandemic, the cost of soybeans had increased. However, with the help of ProKUS, the funding can be used for additional stock so that the turnover will be higher.
ProKUS has helped various businesses, such as a convection business named Annur which is owned by Nenah. Thanks to ProKUS, Nenah can optimize the convection business. In this digital era, online marketing is one of the lessons which is being taught by the mentors.
"After receiving the fund from the Ministry of Social Affairs, I can buy additional raw materials and sewing machines. Besides that, I am taught on how to sell the products online by making use of social media," Nenah explains.
Incubator Synergy, Mentors, and KBB Social Service
Aside from the PKMs independence purpose, the synergy of KBB Social Service, Universitas Padjadjaran UNPAD) Oorange as the incubator, and mentors also take part in the KPM success.
"KBB has 285 targets and KPM business has increased. We think of how their business develops. We improved the human resources, fixed the packages, and fixed the production quality that follows the standards, said Head of West Bandung District Social Office Sri Dustirawati.
"Hopefully, this program gets better through the synergy of all parties by making use of the local potency, starting from the entrepreneurs to the local government," she said.
To maximize the independence of KPMs, the mentors who assist KPM had received training (Training for Trainers) with various lessons by UNPAD Oorange.
"We taught them digital marketing, business concept, and human resources reinforcement. The trainers consist of Oorange team and the practitioners," says Director of UNPAD Oorange Diana Sari.
Thanks to the cooperation of many parties and mentoring from Teh Tarik and convection business, Rudi Juansyah can get many positive things from what he has learned so that he can share them to the KPMs.
"The collaboration from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Social Service, and Incubator has helped me to learn. I can share my knowledge with the KPMs," he said.
