PURBALINGGA, NETRALNEWS.COM - State-owned airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has ensured that Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport in Wirasaba, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java, is ready to operate commercially on April 22, 2021.

"Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport will start operating for commercial flights on April 22, 2021," said President Director of Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin in Purbalingga, Central Java, on Saturday (02/27/2021).

He conveyed the statement when meeting Regent of Purbalingga Dyah Hayuning Pratiwi and her staff to discuss the operational preparations for Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport.

Awaluddin also conveyed a number of information to the ranks of the Purbalingga regency government, including the progress of airport construction which has reached 100 percent.

"For the runway and so on, it is 100 percent ready," he said.

He added that his company appreciates the performance and full support of the Purbalingga Regent and all ranks of the Purbalingga Regency Government who have prepared a number of facilities to accelerate the progress towards the operation of the airport on April 22.

Awaluddin continued that Angkasa Pura II will deploy personnel on March 15, 2021, or 30 days before the operation of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport, and added that personnel support must be at the airport location by April 22, 2021.

In addition, he said the company had also coordinated with Airnav to support air navigation.

"On March 15 there will be personnel assistance for the operationalization of the preparations. Human resources are on standby. We have also coordinated with Airnav for air navigation support," Awaluddin continued.

He added that until now, the development of the operational readiness of Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport on April 22, 2021 as the first flight time was still on schedule.

"We hope that towards April 22, there will be no obstacles, both in principle and technical, including with airlines serving at the airport," he said.

Meanwhile, Regent Dyah Hayuning Pratiwi expected Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport to operate immediately.

"Thus, its benefits can be felt in encouraging social and economic activities in the Purbalingga Regency area and its surroundings," she said.
