Lion Air Operates Fuel-Efficient Boeing 737 Max-8

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - National private airline Lion Air has added a new fleet of Boeing 737 MAX-8. This new fleet has a number of advantages.

Andy Saladin, Public Relations Manager of Lion Air Group, said one of the advantages of the 179-passenger aircraft is fuel-efficient. Boeing 737 MAX-8 is 15 percent more efficient than the previous type.

Andy said fuel savings would reduce airline operating costs. "So it is possible for Lion Air to lower the price of tickets for flights using this plane," said Andy in publication on Saturday (7/15).

The company also plans to operate the aircraft for long-haul flights. The plan, the plane will fly to various buffer cities in China. Andy said the Boeing 737 MAX-8 is suitable for long-distance travel because the aircraft is capable of flying 7.5 hours non stop in full seat capacity.

Another advantage of the Boeing 737 MAX-8 is the spacious leg room of the passenger seat. In addition, the sound of the latest aircraft engine Boeing version is more impermeable 40 percent compared to other similar aircraft.

The Boeing 737 MAX-8 operates first today. The plane departed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang to Supadio Pontianak Airport. Flight number JT 710 departed at 06.50 WIB and landed at 09.00 WIB. The journey went smoothly.
