JAKARTA, NNC - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) launched the "SEANODE Geoportal RZWP-3-K" application during a Coordination Meeting on Zoning Plan for Coastal Areas and Small Islands (RZWP-3-K), Wednesday (1/30/2019) in Bogor.
SEANODE is a technology-based innovation developed by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs in collaboration with USAID Sustainable Ecosystem Advance Project. SEANODE is able to provide scientific data and accurate information about marine spatial planning in all provinces in Indonesia.
This web-based online portal has been integrated with the RZWP-3-K data and information management system. SEANODE makes it easy for policy makers both at the central and regional levels to find out information on regional regulations and maps of online and transparent sea space allocation so as to accelerate the decision-making process in accordance with the policies and development directions of each region.
"The development of this marine spatial geoportal is also expected to be able to minimize various conflicts related to the use of marine space and in the future it can also be used for disaster response mitigation. Optimal use of geoportal will benefit local governments in developing and promoting regional potential, while maintaining water conservation efforts and sustainable fisheries," explained Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, Director General of Marine Space Management at MMAF.
The SEANODE system is the official platform of the marine planning geoportal system that supports the One Map Policy, which was recently released by the President Joko Widodo.
