Gov't Set to Develop Supporting Tourism Infrastructure at Lake Toba (honeymoon)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian government ensures the development of tourism supporting facilities and infrastructure in the Lake Toba region as one of the super priority destinations to be developed has been running smoothly.

The plan to develop Lake Toba area was followed up with a meeting held at the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Jakarta.

Present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, Deputy Tourism Destination Development Dadang Rizky Ratman, Chair of Development Acceleration Team for 10 Priority Tourism Destinations in Hiramsyah, Head of Lake Toba Tourism Authority Arie Prasetyo, and Regent of Toba Samosir, among others.

Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya explained, through the meeting several things had been agreed upon including investment signed on 12 October 2018 followed by mapping and implementation planning in the field.

"With this cooperation, investors will begin to develop by building tourism support facilities," the Minister said.

He added, some of the infrastructure and accommodations developed include international standard hotels and resorts, MICE (meetings, incentives, convention, and exhibition), agro-forestry, organic farming, village tourism, education about tourism, and socio-economic empowerment that enable communities in the tourism area of ​​Lake Toba and its surroundings it becomes more prosperous.

"The ground breaking investment is planned to be held on September 28, 2019, to coincide with the day after the International Tourism Day," he concluded.
