JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - In relation to the mass blackouts in a number of regions on Java on Sunday (04/08/2019), the Indonesia House of Representatives Commission VII is set to summon the Directors of state-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) on Tuesday (6/8/2019) this afternoon.
"We, as Commission VII dealing with energy, have decided to summon PLN directors to discuss this issue," said Member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives Bara Hasibuan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, this morning.
He said Commission VII would summon the PLN Board of Directors to ask for an explanation of the causes of the blackouts. Moreover, Hasibuan said the reasons presented by PLN were inconsistent.
"We want to hear directly from PLN what actually happened. Because the explanations we monitored from the media changed inconsistently and there was the last explanation we all read last night that the cause was said to be because of the police, because of the trees," said Bara.
Besides wanting to know the cause of the mass blackouts, the PAN politician admitted that his team would also ask about what steps PLN had taken to prevent similar things from happening in the future.
