JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – A man, identified by the police as Kevin (26) has been arrested for planting cannabis, popularly known as weed, at the roof of his rented house. The suspect admitted he has been planting weeds for four years. 

A member of the Drug Investigation of the South Jakarta Police said the suspect was arrested at his rented house at Jl. Kebagusan IV , Pasar Minggu, Jakarta Selatan, recently. Police found plants as high as one meter or over three feet tall.

The suspect, who is a musician, bought a packet of cannabis from a friend and planted the seeds, growing them in plastic pots at home. 

“He has been growing the weeds for four years now,” the police officer said.

Police has obtained evidence in the form of one cannabis tree and1.36 grams of weed from the suspect.

"The suspect claimed that the plants were for his own consumption and he placed the pots in hidden places on the roof so no one could see what he was growing,” the officer added.
