JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office says the closure of the Goldenhands Hotel in Kelapa Gading is not related to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
"Yes, it is true (there is a closure), but it has nothing to do with corona(virus)," said Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office Cucu Ahmad Kurnia in Jakarta, on Saturday (03/14/2020).
Previously, it was rumored that the closure of the spa was attributed by one of the therapists becoming a suspect of COVID-19.
The rumor said the therapist was being quarantined, and that visitors and staff who were inside the spa were not allowed to leave the building for the next two weeks.
"That is a hoax. It has all been inconsequential, and it's making people anxious," Cucu said.
The reason for the closure of the business location of the Hotel Goldenhands is due to the permit issue. "What is clear is that we have sealed it because the permit has not been renewed since 2014," Cucu said, as reported by Antara.
In addition to the Kelapa Gading Goldenhands Hotel, Cucu also detected similar false messages in the name of Delta Spa. "Some are circulating and saying that Delta Spa is also closed due to coronavirus. That is also a hoax," he said.
