JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara, accompanied by Director General of Social Rehabilitation Harry Hikmat, attended the destruction of narcotics evidence event at the Office of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Cawang, Jakarta.
Before viewing the destruction of narcotics evidence, the Social Affairs Minister visited several rooms in the BNN office, starting from the Media Center which contained trending drug abuse issues, to the complaint center through social media, broadcast rooms and research center rooms, as well as data and information rooms.
"Thanks to the extended family of BNN, we have been invited to see the facilities at BNN and the destruction of narcotics evidence," said the Minister of Social Affairs on Friday (3/7/2020).
The Ministry of Social Affairs is closely related to BNN, one of which is in terms of social rehabilitation. "The Ministry of Social Affairs operates five drug rehabilitation centers, where we want our hall as an extension of BNN," said the Minister.
The Minister of Social Affairs also directed the Director General of Social Rehabilitation so that in the future the rehabilitation facilities owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs could be in accordance with the standards at BNN. These include the rehabilitation facilities of Jakarta "Bambu Apus" Hall, Bogor "Galih Pakuan" Hall, "Satria" Baturraden Hall, Medan "Insyaf" Hall and the "Pangurangi" Takalar Hall.
In addition to the Social Rehabilitation Center for Drugs, the Ministry of Social Affairs also has 178 partners of Report Obligatory Recipient Institutions (IPWL) spread all over Indonesia whose function is to fulfill the rights of narcotics addicts in getting treatment/rehabilitation through medical rehabilitation and social rehabilitation.
Going forward, the Minister of Social Affairs wants a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) renewal with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) where there should be additional empowerment points for former drug addicts.
"We need empowerment for our brothers and sisters who have returned to society. We make sure they can start a new life better and not fall into the world of drugs again," explained the Minister.
Social Minister participated in the destruction of class 1 narcotics evidence consisting of 86,623 grams of methamphetamine, 80,430 grams of ecstasy, 211 grams of gorilla tobacco and 1,538 grams of dimethyltriptamine. The destruction of narcotics evidence has been carried out for the fourth time in 2020.
The head of BNN, Heru Winarko said that narcotics evidence was obtained from eight different cases, namely from the Pasar Baru Post Office, Regulated Tiki Agent Tangerang, Gading Nias Apartment, Jalan Industri Raya Cikarang, rice shops in the Cikarang Raya Industrial area and in the Amaroossa Hotel parking lot. .
After destroying narcotics evidence, Social Minister and Director General Rehsos were invited to visit the BNN Rehabilitation Center in Lido, Sukabumi.
The BNN Center provides rehabilitation services ranging from detoxification, namely treatment with symptomatic therapy, post unit/post-withdrawal stabilization stabilization, primary programs, namely social rehabilitation with Theurapeutic Community (TC) methods, re-entry in the form of vocational therapy and socialization and post rehabilitation in the form of work practices field.
The Ministry of Social Affairs will learn a lot from BNN in order to improve the quality of human resources.
"I have directed Mr. Harry Hikmat to invite the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Drug Rehabilitation to study and study at the BNN Rehabilitation Center installation," said the Minister.
BNN also already has a professional certification body for counselors. It is hoped that the human resources at the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation can also get certification from the National Narcotics Agency so that in their work they will have better knowledge.
