JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) is optimistic that the distribution of Phase III of Social Cash Assistance (BST) will be completed on time. The Board of Directors of PT Pos acknowledged that the extraordinary steps taken by Indonesia Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara had accelerated the distribution of BST.
PT Pos Indonesia is optimistic that it can achieve the target due to various challenges in Phase III that are different from phases I and II. According to the Director of Network and Financial Services of PT Pos Indonesia Ikhwan Sutardiyanta, in the previous stage, BST distribution still had to face social distancing measures which indeed limited mobility.
"We are optimistic that the distribution of BST Phase III will be achieved in mid-July. We will continue to do the acceleration steps together with the Ministry of Social Affairs. Mr. Social Minister Juliari P Batubara and the ranks immediately intervened to open the road if we had problems with the local governments, "he said in Jakarta, on Monday (07/06/2020).
The cooperation between PT Pos Indonesia and the local government in the early period of distribution was acknowledged that it still had to adjust a lot, and it was believed that in Phase III it was better understood.
"In Phase III, there is no social distancing restrictions. And now the cooperation with the regional governments has become tighter so I am sure it is easier to understand each other," he said.
In addition, Ikhwan Sutardiyanta also stated, optimism of PT Pos Indonesia was also because in the past, Social Affairs Minister Juliari and the entire Ministry of Social Affairs had also taken extra ordinary steps in accelerating the distribution of BST.
"The Social Affairs Minister immediately handled, for example, for areas that are still low in distribution. Social Minister directly calls with local government elements or directly coordinates when visiting related areas. This external support can be for us," he said.
Ikhwan said, with the encouragement and the big role of the Ministry of Social Affairs, specifically Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara and other Ministry of Social Ministry staff, PT Pos Indonesia is convinced that the distribution target would be achieved in mid-July.
At the press conference, PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) also explained a number of breakthroughs so that the acceleration of BST distribution could be carried out. Among them, the Social Affairs Minister instructed PT Pos to increase service counters.
PT Pos Indonesia also brought services to the social aid beneficiaries by opening distribution through the community. These include village offices, village offices, schools, and others that bring services closer to the KPM and in order to comply with health protocols, in order to avoid queues and crowds.
"We also deliver directly to the beneficiaries' homes, especially those who cannot come to the Post Office and Community for some reason. As for persons with disabilities, beneficiaires who are elderly, sick, and beneficiaries in remote locations to access payment locations," he said.
PT Pos Indonesia also extends the duration of services, from morning to finish (until evening). Even on holidays PT Pos continues to open services.
Improve coordination and cooperation with villages, TKSK, social institutions (Youth Organization, Civil Security, etc.), Regional Governments and security apparatus (Polri and TNI). "Specifically with TNI, we are working together with adding transporters," continued Ikhwan.
