JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara has ensured that there is close monitoring of vendors providing basic food commodities for social assistance (bansos), including by applying strict audit standards. This is to ensure that the social aid beneficiaries (KPM) are given social aid accurately with the right price and the right quality.
"We conduct intensive and systematic audits and monitoring of vendors providing basic food commodities, including processing reports from the field related to vendors who might send items that are not appropriate commodities," He said on Tuesday (07/14/2020).
Juliari said that the the procurement of social aid is carried out by the vendors. From monitoring in the field, if a case is found, it will be processed immediately.
"We immediately call the relevant vendor to crosscheck the information. If we find a problem, of course we will take action according to the provisions The point is that we want to ensure that the entire process of distributing social assistance meets the principle of prudence," Juliari said.
He continued that in principle, the Ministry of Social Affairs ensures that every use of the budget can be accounted for and monitored through the mechanisms and provisions in force. Internally, the Ministry of Social Affairs activates internal supervision through the Government Internal Oversight Apparatus (APIP).
"This is in line with instructions from the President that we who are assigned to distribute social assistance there is assistance from institutions such as the police, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP)," he said.
On various occasions, the distribution of social assistance was also attended with law enforcement officials, including from Polri and the KPK. Social Minister Juliari stated that law enforcement officials such as the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission were present to oversee the distribution of basic food assistance to make it more targeted, at the same time referring to the guidelines and ensuring there were no frauds in the field.
"As part of the surveillance plan, the Ministry of Social Affairs invites the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission to jointly review the process of social assistance distribution, especially in Jakarta and Greater Jakarta, as well as hold direct dialogue with the recipients of social assistance," he said.
The oversight function is important to uphold, to ensure that every citizen has the right to receive assistance by adhering to the principle of assistance must be right on target.
The social aid (bansos) distribution has reached a total of 1.9 million households, including as many as 1.3 million families in Jakarta, and 600,000 families in the area of Bogor Regency and the City of Depok, Tangerang, South Tangerang and Bekasi which are directly adjacent to Jakarta.
The Minister of Social Affairs stated that the basic food aid for Jakarta and Greater Jakarta is worth IDR600,000/month/family, technically the distribution is carried out twice a month.
Distribution of social assistance for the first period will end on July 15, 2020. After that, the government will provide additional assistance, in the form of distribution of basic food assistance during the period of July-December 2020 worth IDR300,000/month/family.
