JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The budget of the Indonesia Ministry of Social Affairs continues to increase, in line with the assignment in the Social Safety Net (JPS) to handle the impact of Covid-19.
Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara has ensured that the Ministry of Social Affairs adheres to the principles of transparency and accountability in budget management.
This statement was made by Social Affairs Minister Juliari during an audience with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin at the Attorney General's Office of Education and Training Building, Wednesday (30/9/2020).
Social Affairs Minister Juliari ensured that to fulfill the principles of transparency and accountability, the Ministry of Social Affairs worked together with various related agencies to carry out supervision, including the Attorney General's Office.
"We ensure that budget management meets the principles of accountability and transparency. Our arrival is to strengthen cooperation with the Attorney General's Office for oversight and supervision in budget management," Juliari said.
The Minister of Social Affairs and the ranks were received by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. Present accompanying the Minister of Social Affairs were Secretary General Hartono Laras, Inspector General Dadang Iskandar, and Head of General Bureau Adi Wahyono.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General was accompanied by Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, Sunarta, Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration, Ferry Wibisono, and Head of the Legal Information Center, Hari Setiyono.
Currently, the Ministry of Social Affairs manages a budget of IDR 134.008 trillion, or the largest of all ministries and institutions. As of September 29, from a budget of IDR 134.008 trillion, budget spending has reached IDR 104,092,218,175,446 (77.68 percent). With these achievements, the Ministry of Social Affairs recorded the highest budget realization among ministries and institutions.
The Minister of Social Affairs stated that supervision of the management and distribution of social assistance/aid during the pandemic was in line with President Joko Widodo's direction.
"In accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction, in order to absorb the budget we would like to be provided with assistance from all friends who oversee government programs. Of course, among them is from the Attorney General's Office," he said.
To maintain budget management in accordance with the principles of good governance, the Ministry of Social Affairs carries out multiple oversight, namely by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), also accompanied by the Government Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) for procurement, apart from of course internal supervision through the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). .
However, extra supervision is also needed, including through the mass media. Because this assistance involves a very large budget, and the recipients of aid also reach tens of millions.
"With this willingness to be monitored, we want public involvement and continue to implement good governance," he added.
