House Chairperson Witnesses Social Aid Distribution in Bali (kemensos)

DENPASAR, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara and Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati are accompanying the Chairperson of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani in Bali. The two ministers accompanied the House chairperson to witness the disbursement of social assistance in two locations.

The first location is in Dauh Yeh Cani Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency. Here, the group saw the distribution of Cash Social Assistance (BST) and Rice Social Assistance (BSB).

In her remarks, Puan advised the Balinese people to comply with health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands, and keeping distance.

"As long as vaccines and drugs have not been found, I ask you to be patient by complying with health protocols," she said on Friday (10/16/2020).

Puan also conducted supervisory function by checking and having dialogue with the beneficiaries. She asked about everything related to the use of aid funds received by Beneficiary Families (KPM).

When checking at the counter for food commodities purchases, Puan found that the price of tempeh was IDR2,000/piece ,or higher than the market price. On the other hand, Puan seemed satisfied with the KPMs' answers that they mostly used the social assistance for important purposes.

In carrying out social protection tasks, the Ministry of Social Affairs budget has increased from a budget cap of IDR 62.7 trillion to become IDR 104.4 trillion, which was then increased again to IDR 124 trillion, and currently reaches IDR 134.008 trillion.

As the budget increases, the budget realization also increases. Budget realization as of October 14 touched 82.18%.

"The high realization also cannot be separated from good supervision and cooperation with the House of Representatives," said Puan.

For information, the number of beneficiaries of the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) in Bali Province is 94,300 KPMs, with social assistance value of IDR47.150 billion, and spread across nine districts/cities.

The number of BPNT/Staple Food Card beneficiaries in Bali Province is 174,480 KPMs in nine districts/cities. As of October 2020, Bali Province has received assistance amounting to IDR319.452 billion.

For BST, the number of beneficiaries in Bali Province is 189,635 KPMs with a value of IDR568.869 billion. For BSB in Bali Province, the social aid reaches 86,566 KPMs, with a volume of rice as much as 3,895,470 kg, or a value of IDR 39,024,818,460.
