SURAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives has conducted a Specific Work Visit to Surakarta, Central Java Province. In direct observation on the ground, the people's representatives concluded that the distribution of social assistance for the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) of the Ministry of Social Affairs was running on time and on target.
"Alhamdulillah, from the beneficiary receiver (KPM) report, there is no problem. The distribution of PKH social assistance goes on time and on target," said Chairperson of Commission VIII Work Visit Team Samsu Niang at the Hall of the Surakarta Mayor's Office on Friday (11/20/2020).
On that occasion, Samsu Niang hoped that the government would immediately return the PKH distribution from quarterly to monthly. Samsu said that if it takes three months to receive money, it will take too long. He felt sorry that the KPMs had no money, and eventually loan sharks were able to come in to lend money to them.
"The interest rates from loan sharks reach 25% with the lure of being able to be paid after the aid is disbursed, and we will convey this at the working meeting, "he said.
In another part of his speech, Samsu also expressed support for the commitment of the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Batubara to review the data on social assistance recipients, so that there is no recipient of the same assistance from year to year. "Do not let the recipient of the aid be the same," he continued.
For this reason, it is also important to ensure that they continue to encourage the participation of PKH graduates. Samsu Niang also advised the assistants to ensure that in the process of disbursing aid, they comply with health protocols.
On the same occasion, Director of Family Social Security for the Ministry of Social Affairs Rachmat Koesnadi said that for Central Java Province, the distribution of PKH social assistance for the 2020 fiscal year totaled IDR5.2 trillion for 1,572,687 KPMs. Meanwhile, Surakarta City has distributed PKH social assistance of IDR59.4 billion for 17,697 KPMs.
"For the national PKH graduation target for one million PKH KPMs, in October it has reached 839,731 KPMs or 83.97%," he said.
Central Java Province has registered 188,143 KPMs or 11.96% of the total KPMs, and the city of Surakarta has registered 2,446 KPMs or 13.8%.
