Indonesia-China Sign Five-Point Health Plan of Action (special)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Health drg Oscar Primadi, MPH, and Deputy Minister of Health of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Yu Xuejun have conducted a virtual signing of a Plan of Action in the health sector for the 2020-2022 period on Tuesday (11/24/2020).

The Action Plan is an implementation of the MoU of the two countries which regulates five health collaborations, namely:

- Prevention and control of infectious diseases;

- Prevention and control of chronic diseases;

- Health emergency preparedness and response, including surveillance and early warning systems;

- Strengthening health systems and health services, planning, developing health human resources and building capacity and training, as well as joint research and development in health sciences; and

- Traditional medicine.

The MoU on Health Cooperation between the two countries' Health Ministries was signed in Surakarta, Indonesia, on November 27, 2017.

For the implementation of concrete cooperation, it is regulated in the MoU that both parties need to prepare a Joint Work Plan (Plan of Action).

On October 27, 2020, the Indonesia-China Joint Committee on Health (JCH) First Meeting was held, and agreed on a draft Plan of Action.
