LABUAN BAJO, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs has distributed various social assistance programs, while at the same time accelerating the handling of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province of East Nusa Tenggara.
"We are special because we bring a lot of social assistance as a form of our presence in the midst of citizens and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic," said Dharma Wanita Advisor for the Ministry of Social Affairs Grace Batubara.
This statement was conveyed by Grace when symbolically delivering the social aid at the Batu Cermin Village Office, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, on Friday (11/27/2020).
The social aid that were delivered by the Ministry of Social Affairs include Social Harmony Assistance worth IDR300 million to two forum chairpersons, local wisdom assistance worth IDR50 million to a studio group, as well as masks and sanitizers to the beneficiaries.
There is also the Keluarga Harapan Program (PKH) assistance to 70 beneficiaries (KPM), Social Cash Assistance (BST) from the Ministry of Social Affairs through PT. Pos Indonesia, 54 packages of uninhabitable social rehabilitation assistance for houses, as well as 100 packages of basic necessities for residents for Remote Indigenous Communities.
Moreover, there is also social aid in the form of 2,059 basic food packages through the Caritas Ruteng Pastoral Center for residents in Manggarai Regency and West Manggarai Regency for the Handling of Covid-19.
In addition, the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation provided assistance including 20 childcare materials worth IDR10 million, assistive aids for persons with disabilities and educational tools.
In addition, there were 20 school supplies assistance @ IDR500,000 worth a total of IDR 10 million, and assistance for 151 Drug Abuse Victims through two LKS in NTT Province worth IDR498 million to the Head of the NTT Province Social Service.
"These various social assistance programs are expected to improve the welfare of residents and ease the burden on residents who are directly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, we pray that the Covid-19 pandemic will end soon and life will be as normal as before," Grace said.
Grace also invited all residents to live life with discipline and apply the 3M health protocols.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we should remain disciplined in our lives, and follow the health protocols by wearing masks, washing hands with soap in running water, and keeping a safe distance," added Grace.
The activity was continued by distributing Cash Social Assistance (BST) by PT Pos Indonesia by visiting three houses of BST Beneficiary residents.
The group also went to Liang Ndara Tourism Village, Mbeliling Subdistrict, West Manggarai Regency, attending the Performance by the Liang Ndara Village Cultural Center and observing the making of various local crafts.
