Social Affairs Ministry Assists Child with Spinal Abnormality in Majene (kemsos)

MAJENE, NETRALNEWS.COM - The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs works hard to ensure that disaster victims and survivors obtain sufficient aid, including the vulnerable groups who survive the disaster. They need attention and the presence of the state.

Today, the Ministry of Social Affairs team which is led by the Sub-Coordinator of Education and Training Section for Government Social Welfare Workers from Makassar Social Welfare Education and Training Centre, Masriyani Mansyur, greeted and gave support to all flood survivors in Majene Districts. One of the survivors is a child with a disability called Adrian. He has been suffering with spinal abnormality since 2013.

"The abnormality causes Adrian to be unable to move freely. We are here to give him a wheelchair. With this aid, we hope that we can support Adrian's mobility," Masriyani Mansyur said after meeting Adrian in Totolisi Village, Sendana Sub-district, Majene District (02/23/2021).

The aid from the Ministry of Social Affairs are delivered after coordinating with Majene Social Service and the Sub-district Head Baso Aznur.

"The spinal abnormality causes Adrian to be unable to get up from his bed. Aside from the wheelchair, we also distribute daily needs," Masriyani added.

Moreover, by coordinating with Majene Regional Public Hospital, the Ministry of Social Affairs team also provided COVID-19 test and give a proper health treatment for Adrian.

"Adrian's COVID-19 test result is negative, and we will do treatments to the injuries on his neck, back, and legs. We also do a scan photo for his lungs. We will make sure that Adrian gets nutrition repair services," Masriyani said.

Suria, Adrian's mother, has been a participant of the Keluarga Harapan Program since 2013. She expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs team.

"Thank you for all the aid and support for Adrian. It is really helpful for the condition we are in now," she said.
