SURABAYA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, also known as Risma, has inaugurated the Sawunggaling Bridge today. The Minister of Social Affairs expressed gratitude for the opportunity to inaugurate the bridge.
"I thank you for being invited to this inauguration, in which I am not the mayor of Surabaya. Actually, this concept is a concept that friends see as only a bridge. However, this is a concept for handling intermodal problems, mode integration in the city of Surabaya," said the Minister of Social Affairs in Surabaya.
She emphasized that this bridge is not just a means of connecting. However, it is a means to overcome interconnection through the intermodal concept.
"Previously, the plan was to have a track, and then connect to the second floor, and then connect the buses. Thus, switching modes will facilitate the movement of residents," he said.
This bridge also helps residents access to the parking lot and terminal, as well as West Surabaya. In the initial planning, there were plans to connect to other places. "However, we did not have money due to the COVID-19 pandemic," she said.
"The concept is that the terminal is intermodal, so there are trams, buses, and public transportation. Connecting residents can cross from here," Risma said.
The bridge is also a strategic location connected to the zoo. Risma hopes that zoo visitors can park at that location because of its wider location.
It is then that it functions as the connecting terminal between the two. "Here you can take public transport, then take an intercity bus. Here you can take a bus," she said.
