JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM –  PCC pills containing Paracetamol, Caffeine, Carisoprodol now come into spotlight. The pills which are suspected to be distributed free of charge to teens may induce hallucination.

Psychologist Irmawati has asked parents to exercise extra control over their children. "It is true from last night to today the Mental Hospital is visited by pediatric and adolescent patients with the same symptoms, such as unconsciousness from hallucinating."

It is confirmed, said Irma, according to the information obtained from their patients, they have taken a drug called PCC and the drug was obtained for free from the person they did not know. "To minimize casualties it is expected cooperation from parents to supervise their sons and daughters," said Irma to Netralnews.com.

Meanwhile Dr. Nissa Chairunisa added any pill when consumed in excessive, in arbitrary doses will have effect to harm the body. "I myself cannot confirm whether this PCC is consumed excessively by patients or according to dose. Even if meeting the dose whether it is consumed to treat [illness] or indeed there is an element of abuse."

According to Nissa, PCC contains strong drugs, and that it cannot be sold freely. The main function of the drug is to remedy a person suffering from heart disease. "Well the effect for a healthy person will cause nausea, the body will feel pain, and can convulse. Its own function is actually to relieve pain in addition to heart medication."

Meanwhile, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) confirmed the news of drug abuse of PCC or Paracetamol, Caffeine, Carisoprodol which caused one person to die and dozens of others to be hospitalized was true and not just hoax.

Until now the Narcotics Laboratory Department of BNN, Central BNN and Regional BNN are coordinating with the Central Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and Local BPOM to check the content of drugs marked as PCC.
