Young People Can Become Carriers of Coronavirus (special)

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Young people have great potential as carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 microorganism that causes covid-19, and transmit the coronavirus to parents or the elderly (seniors).

This can occur when youths who have been exposed to the virus appear to be healthy, then directly or indirectly carry the virus into an environment where there are seniors or the elderly.

The case then becomes a serious problem. Therefore, youths must pay close attention and avoid becoming a source of the spreading of coronavirus in the family and surrounding areas.

Government Spokesperson for handling Covid-19 Achmad Yurianto said that young people or youths can be affected by the coronavirus and yet show no symptoms. This then becomes factor in the rapid spreading of Covid-19.

"Young people who appear healthy in some cases can actually be carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 microorganism to the elderly group. When we are exposed and not isolated, this is a fundamental problem, so that it (coronavirus) spreads quickly, "Yuri said recently in Jakarta.

Therefore, Yuri urges anyone, including those who feel healthy, to truly comply with the government's call for more effort in staying at home and conducting self isolation.

Yuri has also provided information several times about efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 disease, which is based on close contact due to contamination of droplets to others through coughing or sneezing. In addition it is important for anyone to maintain a minimum interaction distance of one meter. This is known as physical distancing.
