WASHINGTON, NNC - US Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday (5/3/2018) states he is postponing his visit to Brazil ahead of the planned meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
"The Vice President postpones his trip to Brazil to ensure that all national diplomatic and security resources are available at a time when Trump plans to hold talks with Kim,” Pence spokeswoman Alyssa Farah said in a statement.
Trump, who is scheduled to meet Kim in the coming weeks, said on Tuesday that the venue and date of their meeting will be announced "in a few days".
The US President on Monday revealed that Singapore and the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which separates North Korea and South Korea, could possibly become his meeting place with Kim.
Pence was scheduled to visit Brazil at the end of the month.
