LAS VEGAS, NETRALNEWS.COM – Bulgarian boxer Kubrat Pulev has received suspension until July 2019 after kissing a television reporter who interviewed him after the match.

After being investigated, the California Athletics Commission handed him a suspension. The heavyweight boxer, who is nicknamed "The Cobra," was also required to pay a fine of 2,500 US dollars before returning to fight in the State of California.

The incident occured in March, namely after Pulev, who was unbeaten in 27 fights, knocked down Romanian boxer Bogdan Dinu in the seventh round in Costa Mesa, California.

After the interview while standing at close range, Pulev suddenly grabbed the back of Jennifer Ravalo's head, the television reporter who interviewed her and kissed her lips.

Pulev, one of the famous athletes in Bulgaria, then openly apologized, accompanied by his girlfriend pop star Andrea who sat beside him using black glasses.

According to Pulev and his lawyer team, Ravalo did not show anger after being kissed and instead laughed and joined in the victory celebration party.

But Ravalo while giving a tearful report said that Pulev had made him humiliated and did not submit an apology two months later.

"I don't want him to kiss me," Ravalo said in her confession.
