NAGOYA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed criticism of the United States (US) of the Donald Trump administration. The criticism was conveyed during a meeting with Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers meeting in Nagoya, Japan.
As quoted by Baidu from CNBC, Minister Wang said "The United States is widely involved in unilateralism and protectionism, and undermines multilateralism and the multilateral trade system. It has become the biggest destabilizing factor in the world".
Previously, China was furious because the US House of Representatives passed the law on Wednesday. After that, the law will be submitted to the White House to get Trump's approval.
If the law is passed, US representatives will conduct an annual review of Hong Kong's autonomy. This review will be a requirement for the region if it wants to conduct trading activities with the US.
The law also allows the US to impose sanctions on officials responsible for human rights violations in Hong Kong.
In addition, according to Minister Wang, the US has used its national law to even try to undermine the "one country, two systems" and the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.
He said China's development and growth was an inevitable historical trend and could not be stopped by any force.
"There is no way out for the United States zero-sum competition. Only the win-win cooperation between China and the United States is the right way," he said again, as reported by Baidu.
